1. Installation context and requirements
The project is part of the industrial systems rental market, starring a major Dutch company that specializes precisely in providing temporary heat disposal solutions for mechanical companies. Active for several years in the Netherlands, the company works with numerous industries, responding to varying and specific needs.
The needs that emerged for this particular application were clear and precise: the customer needed the design and delivery of robust, efficient and adaptable cooling towers to handle variable temperatures. In addition, the flexibility of the system had to ensure quick installation and easy maintenance, given the temporary and mobile nature of the installations. The total power required, estimated by the customer, was about 9,000 kW.
2. Proposed solution
MITA Cooling Technologies, in close cooperation with the national consultant, proposed a solution as follows:
- four open-loop single-cell cooling towers, model PME-E 3104 E ATT;
- and two larger double-cell cooling towers, model PME 5704 E CW.
This equipment, recognized for its efficiency and robust construction, effectively meets the variable temperature management requirements: its sizing was carried out on the “worst case” of a wet bulb temperature of 22°C.
To maximize convenience and operational speed, MITA included some additional technical specifications: a customized tower body to facilitate forklift operations and a fully removable wall, designed specifically to make routine and extraordinary maintenance easy and fast.
In addition, the MITA solution included a thorough transportation service to the customer’s site in the Netherlands.
3. Results and critical success factors
The project proved to be a success in many respects. MITA Cooling Technologies’ ability to quickly design and deliver solutions, according to the client’s specific technical and operational requirements, was a key factor in the success of the intervention.
Another critical success factor is undoubtedly the customization of the proposed systems (for a sector as peculiar as system rental): technical specifications such as the removable wall and the integration of elements for facilitated use with a forklift allow, in fact, an optimal management of operations, significantly reducing maintenance time and costs.
Finally, the added value of MITA’s technical consultancy and experience with highly customized industrial cooling solutions was another determining factor: lower operational risk for the customer, for a business relationship based on trust and long-term reliability.
