Industrial Refrigeration

Industrial refrigeration is linked to food product storage and production lines in food & beverage: efficiency and resource (water and energy) optimization are the most requested needs by customers. Evaporative and adiabatic condensers must be able to manage different refrigerant gases based on project requirements.

Cooling technologies for industrial refrigeration: at a glance

A typical application of the evaporation or adiabatic technologies is the cooling of refrigeration units (or chillers), with water tower condensation.

The use of these systems is often preferred, rather than an air condenser for a technical reason linked to the better output of the refrigeration unit and the cooling unit lower electric power installed. With the use of the tower, however, it is necessary to provide an appropriate treatment system for the make-up water, which is not necessary for air condensers.

Evaporative and adiabatic condenser for a dairy in the Langhe region

Langhe, a historic area of Piedmont known for its wines and haute cuisine. MITA Cooling Technologies has participated in the modernization of the refrigeration system of a local dairy with two different solutions: the MCE evaporative condenser and the PAD G-C adiabatic gas cooler. Both were required by the project design lead company, the Telos design studio with engineers Claudio Tarsitano and Alessandro Pasini.

Creta Farm cuts energy bill with Mita adiabatic technology

After a devastating fire Creta Farm decided to rebuild and install a cutting edge energy efficient solutionfor the production plant in Crete. The prestigious assignment to design the new cold storage went to ecoRef in Athens. They designed an indirect cooling system with R407F and Temper -15 as secondary fluid using adiabatic Mita technology. The results have exceeded the expectations with significantly reduced energy use.
